New Schools 2020 & 2022 Programs

In response to the growing demand within Victoria, the Department of Education and Training has identified the need for new schools to be ready for opening for the commencement of the 2020 and 2022 school years.

The New Schools 2020 program requires the design and construction of 13 new schools and 4 early learning centres. The New Schools 2022 program requires the design of 10 new build schools. The schools for both programs are greenfield, new build schools comprising of learning neighbourhoods, performing arts, physical education and administration buildings. Secondary colleges have the addition of visual arts and STEM buildings. The schools also include scope of extensive external works including landscaping, sports fields ovals and pavements/courts etc.

MBM are providing the lead cost manager services for the new schools 2020 project comprising of 13 new schools and 4 Early Learning Centres. MBM’s role has been to lead the cost planning and quantity surveying services for the project across the two principal design consultant teams and to provide cost and risks management advice to the client team. We are currently providing construction phase contract administration services to the VSBA during construction of the D&C projects. The 2022 program is in the design phase, where we are currently providing full cost management services.
